Started my exhaust overhaul
I know mono said to just patch the exhaust and see what happens, but I came accross some money, so I am just putting on the whole new exhaust on the XJ.
New APN exhaust manifold, downpipe, Magnaflow High Flow cat, and Dynomax cat-back super turbo system.
Last night I started to take things off. After I took out the air box and power steering pump I saw some things unplugged, so I put them back together. Started to take apart fuel rail and trottle body cables, but didn't completely finish because it got too dark and there were too many damn mosquitos.
Tonight I will continue to take shit off. Next step after fuel is the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. I might take off the rest of the exhaust first though, then go back under the hood.
It is easy, but very meticulous work. I am doing a write up with a ton of photos that I am going to post up on Jeepforums.
While I am at it, I am going to check and maybe replace the CPS once I get the exhaust off. I am also putting in new O2 sensors.
I had to buy some more tools for this, and I am already glad I did. Ratchet wrenches are great.
As I put things back together I am going to check all connections and possibly clean a lot of stuff up. Also check all the wire.
Just thought I would share.

Re: Started my exhaust overhall
Can a mod fix the title to say Overhaul, not overhall?
Re: Started my exhaust overhaul
Fixed
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

thinking about work to my Comanche soon and going over other's cheap project build up threads on comancheclub.com

"The wheels and tires (highlighted in green) I stole from my XJ for the time being. They are less than 6 months old so I factored that into the price as well. At the bottom I excluded them as it was not a immediate cost the last 2 months with this build as I'm going to say I already had them.
I was also able to sell a few things off the MJ that I did not use (31" tires, and a few small misc. items), so I deducted that cost as well for the total.
So grand total thus far is $1271."
very promising potential

Re: Started my exhaust overhaul
Well its done, I have yet to take it for a drive yet though. I cleaned all electrical connections and sensors, and connected some things that were undone. I will post after I drive it around if it solved my problems.
Re: Started my exhaust overhaul
Done with ALL the new exhaust duck?
Driven it yet? With exhaust and unplugged connectors, I'd bet the problem is fixed now.
Yes very interesting on the MJ man. I wanna build mine, but street legal -it'll have doors on it etc.
