Damn dude.

Can you fit a whole car in there?
We did joke about fitting my dad's beater in there...a plymouth colt. I bet it would come close. :p

two thoughts:

1) how's the insulation on that thing? old house + not of space down there = makes me worried

2) why ya gotta go and get this thing AFTER i've moved away and it'll be harder to get wheels powdercoated :p

Not only can you powder coat, but I bet you can make one hell of a rotisserie chicken in there.

Insulation is pretty good on it. According to the vendor it only gets about 110* on the outside. I did a quick trial run and it didn't get to the point of where I couldn't touch it with my hand so I believe that. If it becomes an issue we could probably put some flashing on the ceiling to help reflect some of the heat.

And I think this just means it's time for you to take a trip back up here. :p

On the Internet they say, "You never get this! You never get this!" But then one day they all met in Cali and they get this.

A year ago I would have been impressed, but I've toured the Powder-X facilities now. You can park 2 3/S's in their ovens.

Still, an awesome step up. I'm still using an old oven too (except mine's from the 50's).

A buddy of mine has one that big, can slap a bike (motorcycle) frame and some extra parts in there at one time. His is set up for gas or electric, is yours the same?

Caffy - That's the next step if this takes off but I'm sure that's gonna be a ways down the road.

Evil - Electric only, 220v.

I'm mainly doing this and starting to push to get away from the 3S platform (not leaving it all together). That along with a few other things should help me do that easily. Only hard part is the marketing. The 3S was easy to market since I had obvious ties, not so easy with this stuff and I'm finding that advertising is expensive. I might need to dump some of my savings into the company which I didn't really want to do.

You should try to score a contract with IPS or 3sx. Both work with other platforms, so you can use that as a jumping point into different makes. Just be sure your contract states that they must call it the "3sx/IPS/etc Maximal powedercoating" so you get your name out.

Eh, then they get a cut of the profits. I think I'd be better at least trying to market it myself for now. I'm not sure if that amount of stuff they can offer me is worth it.
