Undrivable Dream Cars...

Post by Wolf_Zero »

We all got them. Now I'm not talking about any old dream car. I'm talking about the kind of dream car that you would pay top dollar for but like it too much to drive, not for fear of breaking or anything else. You just like it that much. I'm definitely not the person that would buy a car and not drive it. If I were to buy a F430, Veyron, Zonda, etc. tomorrow I would most certainly drive it everyday and everywhere. But everyone has got to have one car they would buy just to own but rarely/never drive.

For me that car is the Jaguar XJ220. This is the car by which I have and will always judge every single other car by. It may not be the perfect car. But to me there is nothing better. If the opportunity ever came up to own one of these cars I would jump on it and never ever look back, even if it were to put me in debt for a while. The XJ220 is the only car I would ever buy and actually consider not driving it except maybe on special occasions. Likewise it could be the other way, I could buy it and end up driving it ALL the time. I won't know until I actually own one though :D

Here's a pic for those who don't know of it's beauty....

So what are all of your undrivable dream cars?

The car that I believe was and still is the benchmark with which all other supercars are judged.

On the Internet they say, "You never get this! You never get this!" But then one day they all met in Cali and they get this.

That's the same picture I posted in another dream-car thread :D
Those XJ220's are farking gorgeous. I'd want mine in deep blue.

But, a car I'd rarely/never drive? None..I'd even drive that '58 Ferrari.

I'll relate one of my influences: On Jay Leno many years ago was a car collector of some prestige. Jay asked him if he keeps his cars garaged, and the guy said "no, they're meant to be driven".
He even has a one-of-a-kind 50's racing Ferrari..and he races it on the weekends! Not by himself, not at 50mph around a nice loopy track, he takes that car bumper-to-bumper at 100mph around a twisty track with other racers!
That guy is my hero.

If I want art, I'll buy a painting :D

The Ferarri Testarossa has been my dream car since I was 10. On the rare occasions I see one, I still practically have an orgasm. They only made it better with the 512TR from 1992 to 1994. I would drive it....but I sure as hell would baby it.

There's not one car I wouldn't drive like I stole it. That's what cars are for. You want to have a car you don't drive, get a show car. Show cars are for pussies!

If I could afford to replace/fix/repaint/etc. anything on the car (including buying another one) I would most definitely drive it around ALL the damn time. Otherwise I would drive it VERY sparingly. Yes, cars are meant to be driven but you gotta be able to pay to maintain them properly as well so that you can keep driving them ;)

That car has been my dream car since it came out, I read somewhere that it puts down so much downforce that after a certain speed it could literally drive upsidedown

There's dozens of cars I'd buy before this one if I had a 7 digit toy budget. But if I did have the opportunity to own one of these, I can't see ever driving it except on very special occasions.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

The saleen and the mclaren are the 2 best so far. I would drive both though. For a car i wouldnt drive, mainly because it would be against the law to do so, i choose.......................................

Ox, great taste. The 512TR is fucking awesome

I don't know if there's an actual 'car' I would buy but not drive. I like Jack's idea though about the F1 car. I would love to own one but would probably be scared shitless to drive it on the street, so does that count?
