Thinking about buying another car
Right now I only have my XJ, and I want something else.
Don't get me wrong, I am keeping my XJ for a DD, but I want something "fun" to drive on the weekends and eventually down the road I will start to mod it and what not and turn it into an 11 second car. I can't leave anything stock. I have a lot of plans for the XJ too.
I am not concerned about gas mileage since it wont be a DD. I was looking to get something with a V8.
I already had the VR4, and I am going to get another one, but not for awhile. I am waiting until get better off financially and I want to get a mint condition Spyder VR4.
So back to the car part. I was looking at maybe getting an LT1 or LS1. Not a big fan of ford, so that leaves out mustangs.
What would you recommend?
Don't forget I am 6'3, 315lbs. I just made it into the VR4, but I do fit nicely into most LT1s or LS1s.

Cheap power, if you don't mind yacht handling.

I actually almost bought one of those about 3 months ago. Was going to do a LS1 engine swap. There is a good write up about doing it on LS1Tech or CamaroZ28 forum.

As far as the yacht handling comment. This is the truck I owned before my VR4.

Don't get me started on yacht handling.

Re: Thinking about buying another car
Trust me, I'm deep in the heart of redneck country. I've driven Silverados, 3rd gen Camaros, and all flavors of Mustang.
They all handle like yachts, with the exception of the newer F-bodies. I've actually been in some nice ones that drive respectably.

That is why I was looking at the LS1. They actually handle pretty decently.

Naa...
These:

are yachts.
They're like yachts towing a yacht
But they tow it really fast in a straight line
edit: how 'bout now? stupid non-linking sites.. *Grumble grumble*

Is that your charger you were talking about in the Stealth vs Charger thread? If so, I am glad I voted for the Charger. Nice.

Re: Thinking about buying another car
My two favorite muscle cars are the Charger and the first gen Camaro. If I were to ever get one, it would be one of those two.
Hell, I might just have to get one instead of a newer car.
Damn you.

One of these:

You can fit. I bought mine for $19,500 with 43K miles.

I was seriously thinking about that too. I honestly thing the C5 is the best looking Vette. I even like it better than the C6.

Did you buy that truck here in PA? It looks familiar.
I thought about building something like this before:

With a turbo kit from Force Fed Fabrications.
Here is a link to the website with one of their 3.8L project cars. ( the kits have been removed from the site, and I dont know why...

No, I bought it stock in Ohio, built it up in Ohio, then moved to PA in 2004 with it. Then sold it in 2005 to a couple in Dublin, Ireland.

Re: Thinking about buying another car
I would like to buy a WS6, then TT it. There is a site that offers a good turbo set up that is NOT STS.

That link is just a 3.8L. (1998+)
You can get a 3.8L for a decent price and throw some money at it (turbos) and blow the doors off a WS6/Z28.
If you have the money to get a WS6 and throw turbos on it, then you are lookin at 600+ whp!
