And please make sure it's as near to empty as possible. having a couple gallons of gas sloshing around when you are trying to lower the tank can make things a little difficult, and putting it back up even harder. Just some friendly advice from someone who had the luck of dropping a full tank out of a Grand Prix (Jeff will remember this one fondly).

Soak it in PB Blaster for a few hours, if not a few days. Last time I did one, I opened the panel in the trunk a couple days ahead of time and sprayed it down once per day until the weekend, when I did the work.

Use vice grips, clamped as tight as you can get them. Try to hold the hard line as steady as possible. You might also want to try turning it slightly in both directions to try to get the shit broken loose.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

2nd the PB blaster solution. That stuff works magic. I rounded off 1 nut on a parts car I had (pretty much just fell apart the second I turned the ratchet)...sprayed the rest with PB blaster and came back a few days later, the rest came off without a problem.

Get the vice grips with the rounded jaws. They'll get a better grip on the fitting.

Thats usally the easy one. I have the correct size flare nut wrench for it though, that might be part of the reason

Flare end wrenches worked for me on your car. I used them and had to add another wrench to them to make them a little longer. Your car has "special" needs.

I bought flare wrenches when I did it the first time on my ES, and still stripped the damn things :p
