N/A Brake Upgrades
Aside from those modified stockers, what are the choices? I recall talk of the Eclipse brakes working. Was that ever confirmed?
I've got the go-fast taken care of. I'd really like to balance that out with some slow-down.

Re: N/A Brake Upgrades
From what I hear TT brakes are a pretty good upgrade. Fronts are direct replacements IIRC however you need brackets for the rears...or maybe it's just 2nd gen rears. I don't know...I never looked into it much because I always considered them extra weight.

Re: N/A Brake Upgrades
TT front brakes are an easy bolt on. The rears are worthless because you can't use the TT rear rotors. Baer makes an upgrade for DSM's that should work on non-turbo 3000GT's. I wouldn't consider any stock component from a DSM an upgrade. Galant VR4's run the same front brake caliper as you and it's considered and upgrade for some 1st gen DSM's.
With some brackets available, you can bolt up 1st gen TT brake calipers and use 2nd Gen brake rotors. They also have brackets to use Camaro and C5 brake calipers as well.

I think it was Jeremy that was talking about doing the Baer upgrade, which is what sparked my interest in this in the first place.
I would never consider a non-VR-4 stock part an upgrade for my car. Especially parts from a DSM.

Why? DSMs give us better fuel injectors, turbos, and innercoolers.

[/quote]Because it takes two donor DSMs to feed the hunger one VR-4 has for parts.
Two intercoolers, 8 injectors, two turbos...

If you want to see technical info that will help you on your brake choice, I would invite you to check out http://www.galantvr4.org
They are very technical over there and have great upgrade ideas.

Re: N/A Brake Upgrades
Rear 1st gen TT brakes are the same as the N/a rear brakes. 2nd gen have the upgraded rear.
both 1st gen and 2nd gen TT front brakes are a great up grade to the N/A. With both options you will have to swap out the front knuckles along with rotors and calipers.
Nice part about going with the 1st gen TT brakes up front is that your stock N/A 16" wheels will clear the brakes. That is why i went with 1st gen over 2nd gen in my upgrade. I use my stockers as track wheels.
Great upgrade, well worth the time and money to do it.
Also, it isn't a hard project.

Re: N/A Brake Upgrades
You can get adapter to use your stock steering knuckles and mount some 1g TT front calipers onto your car using stock 2g brake rotors.
1st gen TT rear brake calipers are close to the same. They stick out further allowing a larger rotor diameter which would have to be custom made to fit on the rear of a N/A.
