Car's Back on the Road Tonight..

Post by Terry »

Woot.

Slightly excited. I'm sure it'll wear off once the thing decides to stop running though.

Probably not. Last year when I put it up I was having some idling issues (pretty sure it's the maft-pro) so I don't want the first big trip with it to be 250 miles. At least not until after I get the maft-pro updated and running right.

Congrats, mine just went down last week (for an unknown length of time). On the to-do list:
pull 9bs and install 13ts
replace oil feed lines
clean/flush out return lines and oil cooler
finally install the solid rear mount (now that the turbo will be out of the way)
pull the front manifold and get a crack welded
replace the OS and tcase spool

And I don't want to do a single damn thing either. No idea how long this will take me because I don't know what free time is, and whenever I have it I'm phyiscally/mentally exhausted to the point where I don't feel like moving. That and the fact that basically of this will be a first time, so it's going to take 10 times as long as it should. Who feels like making a trip to Texas?

It should be at ECG...assuming you're going to make it to that?

Kevin put down 360 awhp at 16 psi.... you better bring your a-game this year haha. We might strap it back down before ECG and squeek out a few more ponies.

he's running 13g's

That's it? haha.... that's 40 more hp to the wheels then a stock turbo car running 2 psi more. His car could also use more tuning, but it was getting late. It's on the rich side and should make 400 awhp on 13g's which is VERY good.... on pump gas. He's also still running a stock cat-back exhaust.

The 3squicklist shows the max output from a 13G car to be 410 awhp, but it doesn't show how much boost and what type of gas was run. Next one down with 13G's did 350 awhp at 14 psi (which were turbos off of one of my old TT's). I think we're in the ball park with a rich tune. It was showing 10.7 afr's on the aem wideband and my dyno wideband went to about 10.3 afr's.... aem's seem to read a bit leaner then my dyno sniffer does.

then that record is going down haha. We'll beat it with a s-afc and 550's :p (I believe fastoldguy is using an aem ems though).

Kevin just needs a driveshaft that doesn't feel like it's going to rip out of the floor and a real exhaust.

I gotta reset his base timing since it's a little too advanced (which is why we stopped at 16 psi).

396awhp with a mediocre tune on 15Gs@15 psi. its got 50 hp in it with more time to tune out the dead spot and knock.

ill be putting my 109 trapping 9b car on the dyno shortly. then the mods come.

are we dyno racing now? He made 270 awhp at 8 psi and 360 awhp at 16 psi. I think that's a decent increase considering we started the day at 230 awhp with just some basic s-afc settings. You're comparing 15G's to 13G's... I don't see how that is going to work.

The most a 9b car has made on my dyno is 325 awhp with only a downpipe on it, no cat-back exhaust. I may strap kevin's car back down and disconnect his exhaust to see what kind of power we make then. I will market it as a GZP cutout :p
