your ecu's fuel map is probably the cause of the lean spike. try droping in a little fuel. your head work and cam profile will change the power band and confuse the stock ecu which works off of set parameters.

[quote=""Terry""]Steve - Are you still running v4.4? My menu's look a little different than that however with some tinkering I was able to get it to run much better.

It still occasionally stalls but only if it's idling for a while and I think I might have it too rich at idle. However since my wideband is fubared I don't have much to go from but since my narrowband is on rich (and not cycling) that tells me it's not right.

I turned of the AFR tracking and that took care of most of the problems when going WOT. I still have a spot between 3500-5500 or so where it goes to lean and the rest of the pull is rich. Any ideas on what would cause that? All the tables are set to 0.

Thought the cams might have been causing something since right around the lean spike is where you can really start to feel them kick in.

I think I'm going to leave the car as it is until I get my new wideband then upgrade to v4.8 (which I heard solved some problems in itself) then start getting the tune down. There's a local guy here with some experience on the maftpro and was at least able to get everything working on his car so with his help I should be able to get the Partial throttle stuff working along with the AFR tracking. After I get a decent base tune I'll throw it on the dyno and see what I can get out of it. Hopefully all before the track opens on the 21st.

Are you running high impedance injectors? If not, do you have the appropriate resistors wired between the ECU and injectors?

They're stock NA injectors. I have a walbro fuel pump which is probably messing up my idle however the overclocked ECU should lean everything out (which I should have mentioned Steve...sorry I forgot).

According to Bob setting the mainscale to +14 should adjust for the ECU but the car is way rich at that. Right now I have it around +8 and it seems to be ok. FP is slightly higher (by a couple PSI) at idle with the Walbro but I'm not sure how much that'll affect everything.

Well then, I agree with Helmet, it just sounds like you need to make a few corrections. Wish I didn't live so far away, I'd offer to help you fine tune it.

I wanted to bring it to Vinnie's but I don't want to take a chance at it dying on me down there. Plus I noticed a small spot of oil on the garage floor that I should probably look into before a 250 mile trip.

I'll probably be taking it down to Hans' to get on the dyno once I get the bugs worked out.

What kind of oil is it?

Engine...

Oil level is fine even after driving it around beating on it so it's not really pushing it out. I'm guessing something is loose somewhere..

Can't find any signs of leakage? Maybe you just spilled some?

Definately didn't spill because I haven't done any fluid changes in the new garage (just moved). I didn't even bothered looking for the leak yet. I figured it isn't pushing out enough to make it not driveable so when I get some time I'm going to take it to my parents where the lift is and see what I can find there.
