4/11/2026. FUCK AI. The server is getting slammed to shit by an AI scraper. I don't have any to counteract it, so the only thing I can do is disable the board and wait until the storm passes :(

1/4/2023 update: Our hosting provider forced a database upgrade on us, and that broke compatability with the VBulletin software we use to run the forum. The hosting company is saying since we're on an old version, it's not their problem. I strongly disagree with this, but there's not much we can do. Upgrading to a newer version of VBulletin is not an option at this point. I don't believe we can keep our Shoutbox if we do that. I'm trying to get the database converted over to an open source platform, but I'm running into frequent problems with that process. I AM making progress though.

1/5/2023 update: The conversion utility continues to choke on something in our forum content. I'm guessing it's some kind of illegal characters or a zero length post or something. With over 856,000 posts, it's going to be a little tricky to track down. I think I have a plan to get us up on the old board temporarily. Then I can work out this conversion thing a little more gradually. I'll have an update Friday night.

1/6/2023 update: We have a successful database conversion! Turns out we were our own worst enemy. Shenanigans and shitposts were jamming up the conversion utility. Stuff like this:

I had to sort through the database to find about a dozen of those and take a plunger to them. But now we have a newly formatted DB and the migration can continue. With luck we'll be mostly back up and running on Saturday.
